Good evening Bulldog families!
What a wonderful week it has been at McKenney-Harrison! Our Bulldogs have been busy learning, exploring, and making memories both inside and outside the classroom. From exciting and educational field trips to visits to the park, there were plenty of opportunities for our students to learn through experience. We wrapped up the week with a special Donuts with Grownups celebration for our kindergarten Bulldogs. It was a great way to end a busy week!
We are also excited to recognize this week’s Portrait of a Baron Students of the Week for demonstrating the skill of Adaptability. Adaptability means going with the flow, responding positively when things change, and making the best of situations that don’t go as planned. Congratulations to Otis Faust, Bentlei Kelley, Baylor Bowman, Ruby Sawyer, Brynleigh DuBois, Michael Tillotson, Zoey Every, and Annie Gibson! We are proud of the flexibility, positive attitudes, and perseverance these students demonstrate each day. Way to show us what it means to be a Bulldog!
Next week is Fair Week and also College Go Week, which means we have a shortened school week. Students will attend school on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and will not attend school Thursday or Friday in observance of the Fair. Teachers will report for an in-service day on Thursday. Once Fair Week is behind us, we will have one full week of school before heading into Fall Break. We’re almost there, Bulldogs!
For College Go Week festivities, we have planned dress up days in store.

MCK Spirit Day or school colors (wear gray and blue).
Tuesday, September 29th:
On the Road to being a Baron (wear red and black)
Wednesday, September 30th:
College Spirit (wear your favorite college gear/colors)
PTO Notes: Our FREE spirit wear shirts are coming! Every MCK student will receive a free shirt featuring a design created by our very own fifth graders. We still need approximately 250 student sizes, so please submit a shirt size for each of your children by Friday, October 2. If you have already submitted sizes, you are all set!
We are also getting ready for our 3rd Annual Color Run on October 8 at 5:30 PM! We can't wait for another colorful evening together! Donations help our PTO provide classroom supplies, playground equipment, and memorable experiences for our students. Every donation makes a difference, and grandparents, family, and friends are welcome to participate in supporting our Bulldogs as well. Donations can be made online or by sending cash or a check payable to McKenney-Harrison PTO.
Thank you for another fantastic week, Bulldogs! We are so proud of everything our students are learning, accomplishing, and becoming each day. Have a wonderful weekend, enjoy the Fair, and we’ll see everyone Monday morning!
