Congratulations to this week's Portrait of a Baron Students of the Week for demonstrating excellence in the skill of Adaptability! These Bulldogs have shown their ability to go with the flow, respond positively to change, and make the most of whatever comes their way. Please join us in congratulating Georgia Imel, Leo Garcia-Bernal, Kipnis Knowles, Thomas Frane, Lillian Johnson, Gio Brown, Andrew Creech, and Nolan Tuttle! Great job, Bulldogs!
We experienced a particularly soggy week weather-wise, but we also got a preview of some beautiful fall-like temperatures which has us excited for the change of seasons! Fall is right around the corner, and there is plenty happening at McKenney-Harrison.
Our 4th graders kicked off our field trip season with a visit to the ACD Automobile Museum, where they had a great opportunity to learn outside the classroom. In the week ahead, each grade level will take a trip to Memorial Park, our 4th graders will welcome Energy Safe Kids, and our Kindergarten students will celebrate Doughnuts with Grownups on Friday.
Looking even further ahead, the week of September 28 is Fair Week! Students will attend school for three full days before our Teacher In-Service Day on Thursday, October 1. There will be no school for students on Thursday, October 1, or Friday, October 2.
PTO News
Big things are coming up at MCK! Our 3rd Annual PTO Color Run is Thursday, October 8, at 5:30 p.m. Get ready to run, cheer, and celebrate! Every student should be bringing home a pledge form this week. Donations can be made online or sent to school as cash or a check payable to McKenney-Harrison PTO. Every donation directly supports our students, and we have some fantastic prizes planned. We can't wait to see you there!
And the fun doesn't stop after the Color Run! We're also hosting a Chipotle Dine to Donate on October 8. Make dinner easy after the Color Run and help support MCK at the same time!
Finally, our FREE MCK spirit wear shirts are coming! Our 5th graders put their creativity to work designing this year's school shirt and then voted on the winning design. Every MCK student will receive a shirt completely free of charge! We just need your help making sure we get the right size for each child.
