Good evening Bulldog families!
Thank you for an amazing first week of school! It was incredible, and energizing, to see all of the smiling faces and positive energy throughout McKenney-Harrison once again. While it was only a three-day week for students, we managed to navigate quite a few firsts together! We kicked things off with our first late-start Wednesday and then experienced our first two-hour delay on Friday due to fog. Through all of the changes and uncertainty from day to day, our students and families did an amazing job adjusting and rolling with the punches. Our Bulldogs truly demonstrated adaptability and perseverance, two characteristics that will serve them well throughout the school year.
This week brings our first full week of school, and we are excited to build on the momentum from our opening days. Our teachers will continue establishing routines and expectations, creating a sense of consistency and belonging, and most importantly, building positive relationships with our students. These first few weeks are so important as we work together to create classrooms and a school community where every Bulldog feels safe, supported, and ready to learn.
Finally, thank you for your continued patience and grace as we work through some beginning-of-the-year dismissal challenges. The start of a new school year brings many moving pieces, and we are working diligently to make dismissal as safe, accurate, and efficient as possible.
Parents, please take a moment to verify your child's bus number and drop-off location in PowerSchool and make sure the information is verified before dismissal on Monday. Additionally, please communicate any changes to how your child will be getting home as early as possible. Providing this information ahead of time allows us to make the necessary arrangements and helps ensure a smoother and more accurate dismissal process.
Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and partnership as we navigate the beginning of another school year together. We are off to a great start, and we can't wait to see what this year has in store for our Bulldogs!
