Good evening Bulldog families!
We almost made it through a full week of school, but Mother Nature had other plans! Thank you for powering through another virtual learning day on Friday. Once again, we truly appreciate your flexibility and partnership as we navigate this unpredictable time of year.
This week, we are proud to celebrate our Portrait of a Baron Students of the Week for demonstrating the skill of Collaboration! Collaboration means working together with others to learn, solve problems, and reach a shared goal. These students consistently showed collaboration by listening to others’ ideas, sharing responsibilities, encouraging their classmates, and doing their part as members of a team. Whether in the classroom, on the playground, or during group activities, they helped build strong relationships and showed that we can achieve more when we work together. Congratulations to this week’s winners: Hamira Boyer, Abigail Shadel, Hayden Brandewie, Ivy Edwards, Adrianna Smith, Benji Cooper, Queenie Lin, and Owen Brown.
We’d also like to give a special shout out to our amazing and kind school counselor, Ms. Tracy, as we celebrate National School Counselor Week. We are so grateful for all she does to support our students, staff, and families each and every day. We are truly better because of her.
The week ahead is short but incredibly full of exciting events and activities. On Monday, our Robotics Team will compete in a scrimmage at DeKalb Middle School at 4:00 PM, and Math Bowl will practice after school until 3:25 PM.
On Tuesday, the Robotics Team will practice after school until 3:25 PM.
On Wednesday, middle school counselors will visit McKenney-Harrison to meet with our current 5th grade students and discuss scheduling for 6th grade. Parents, please be on the lookout for scheduling forms coming home. After school on Wednesday, 3rd Grade STEAM Team, Math Bowl, and Circle the State With Song will all practice. Later that evening, our PTO will meet at 6:00 PM.
On Friday, there will be no school for students due to a Teacher In-Service Day.
Best of luck to our Duesenchords, who will be performing at the Circle the State With Song event—sing your hearts out!
We also want to congratulate our Science Fair contestants, who will be presenting their well-executed projects in the science fair competition. We are proud of the hard work, creativity, and dedication shown by all of our participants.
It’s shaping up to be a busy and exciting week at McKenney-Harrison—thank you for being such a supportive school community!
