Good evening Bulldog families!

We were only able to spend two short days together in person this week due to the unpredictable nature of Indiana weather. Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we navigated several days of virtual learning. It truly takes a village to make it all work, and we are incredibly grateful for the support of our families as we adjusted schedules and routines this past week.

Congratulations to this week’s Portrait of a Baron Students of the Week for demonstrating the skill of Integrity. These students consistently showed honesty, responsibility, and strong character in their daily choices. Please join us in celebrating Hayden Casselman, Elsie Parks, Landon Wakeland, Eloise Myers, Ryker Steele, Nolan Tuttle, Jazmyn Ortiz, and Evan Brown. The final group of Integrity winners will be announced to students on Monday, with a ParentSquare post to follow on Friday.

As we move into the month of February, our Portrait of a Baron focus will shift to the skill of Collaboration. In an elementary school setting, collaboration means working together respectfully, listening to others’ ideas, sharing responsibilities, and contributing positively to group tasks. Students who demonstrate collaboration help their classmates succeed, solve problems as a team, and show kindness and cooperation in both learning and play.

The week ahead is a busy one with many activities taking place after school. On Monday, Math Bowl and Tech Team will meet until 3:25 PM. On Tuesday, Robotics will meet after school until 3:25 PM. On Wednesday, STEAM Team, Math Bowl, Circle the State With Song, Student Council, and the Mock Science Fair will all take place after school. In addition, cookies will be on sale Wednesday morning from 8:25–8:50.

Finally, we are excited to announce that we will crown our McKenney-Harrison 5th Grade Spelling Bee Champion on Thursday. We wish all of our spellers the best of luck!

It is shaping up to be an exciting week at McKenney-Harrison—let’s hope Mother Nature cooperates so we can enjoy it together!
