The second grade has been working hard to create a cityscape using painting and collage techniques.   CITYSCAPES are defined as any type of artwork that consists of a scene of a city, just like a LANDSCAPE includes an outside scene of land…and a SEASCAPE includes water or beach scenes. Students were expected to split their paper into two sections, the top section being the sky and the bottom section being the water.  They were encouraged to blend the paint color, making them look watery and wavy. Students then drew and cut the outline of a city block on black paper, which they glued to their painted background. The windows were added as a final touch with Q-tips dipped in paint.
