Magnifying glass Stock PhotoThe first graders have been learning how to make inferences while they are reading.  They have become detectives searching for clues from the author.  They use those clues and their schema (what they already know about the topic and their past personal experiences) to infer what the author is trying to tell them.  Being a CSI (Clues+ Schema= Inference) will help them better understand the stories they read.  Our first grade readers rock!!!!
